A fascination with antique bottles and bottle collecting began as a child. As a young teenager who lived in a wooded area, I used to wander old railroad tracks. One day I discovered a piece of a bottle exposed and I dug it up. Then I kept digging. Found many old antique (mostly medicine) bottles in what I assumed was either an old dumping place or perhaps a hobo camp.
I somehow lost most all of these first bottles over the years, but the fascination still held. Since I am not really a “bottle diggerâ€, I have slowly been buying back this lost part of my childhood. My favorit spots to buy are flea markets and country yard sales. But many good antique bottles can be found on eBay.
