    I would guess sulpho napthol would also be called “naphthol sulfonate,” made by reacting naphthol (similar to naphthalene, aka mothballs) with sulfuric acid.

    Many sulfuric acid derivatives like this were used as topical and dental antiseptics in the early 1900s and late 1800s.
